Eggs in a Basket

One of my wife's favorites. It's really simple and doesn't require a whole lot of work. Just a little bit of patience. We usually eat about 2 of these each.

Cook on my friends!

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook time: 10 mins

Ingredients:
1 egg
Slice of bread
Butter
Salt
Pepper
Spatula (A firm and thin one is the best)

Heat a frying pan to just under medium.
Take the slice of bread and make a hole in the middle, make sure to make it fairly large,

Add butter until you get the bottom of the pan lightly coated,

Once the butter is melted, add the slice of bread to it and let it cook until it's just barely golden brown on both sides.

Add just a tiny bit of butter into the center of the hole on the pan

Crack the egg, and drop it into the center of the whole, let it cook until the bottom is solid and the bread is more toasted (hint: if you can push it around the pan without and egg white spilling out, then it's done).
Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on it to taste.

Flip it over and let it continue to cook until the other side can be pushed around the pan without spilling any egg white.

Take off and add to plate! When you cut it open the yolk should be runny, but the egg white should be pretty solid.

Enjoy this delicious treat! Me and my wife both enjoy it! A variation I like is adding cheese, add a slice of cheese the size of the whole after you put the butter in the center and right before you crack the egg into it.  I use pepperjack to give it a little bit of spice. You can also sprinkle a little bit of shredded right at the end if you'd like!

Serving size: 1 person
